Spoiler Warning ⚠
After a near-death experience, Takemichi finds himself transported 12 years into the past, where he struggles to fix the mistakes of the future. With the help of Naoto Tachibana, Takemichi infiltrates the Tokyo Mangi Gang, to stop the club from turning into an organization that kills innocent people. Through Takemichi's journeys into the past, viewers meet many characters who help shape the new future, for better and for worse.
Best: Hinata Tachibana cares about Takemichi despite his reckless activities.
Hinata Tachibana was Takemichi's girlfriend in middle school. She was kind and had a positive attitude in all situations. When Takemichi learns of Hinata's death, it has a profound impact and makes him want to change.
Hinata also had a strong desire to help and protect those she loved. Hinata cared deeply about Takemichi, she saw beyond his flaws and mistakes. Hinata dared to slap Mikey to defend Takemichi, and even though it was a misunderstanding, Mikey was impressed by her strength.
Worst: Kiyomasa intimidates those he considers inferior to him.
Kiyomasa is a former member of Toman who leads his own group of delinquents called the Kiyomasa's Gang. He sets up fight rings to satisfy his thirst for violence and cruelty. Kiyomasa does not fight fairly, and often uses weapons, such as a bat, to mercilessly beat his opponents.
With his self-imposed authority, Kiyomasa intimidates those he believes to be inferior to him. When Takemichi challenges Kiyomasa to a fight, Mikey arrives and berates Kiyomasa for acting without authority. Kiyomasa becomes enraged at being publicly humiliated and attempts to kill Draken.
Best: Chifuyu is loyal to his friends even if they beat him to the bone.
Chifuyu is the vice-captain of the Tokyo Manji Gang's First Division. He later becomes Takemichi's mentor. Chifuyu is fiercely loyal to his friends, which he demonstrates when he lets Baji beat him to the bone to enter Valhalla.
Due to his moral code, Chifuyu will never fight against his friends. He never uses his position or strength to dominate others, and he despises those who do. Chifuyu also speaks out against things he morally disagrees with.
The Worst: Osanai attacks a young woman, which causes him a lot of trouble.
Osanai is the eighth head of Moebius. He rules over the members with fear due to his violent nature. Osanai helps attack a young woman, whose boyfriend is Pah-chin's friend. The attack angers Pah-chin, and when Osanai learns that Toman is looking for a fight, he shows up with his team.
The fight between Moebius and Toman ends fairly quickly, with Mikey knocking Osanai out with a kick to the head. However, Pah-chin is unhappy with the result and stabs Osanai, leading to his arrest. This situation causes a conflict within Toman.
Best: Baji stays loyal to Toman to a bitter end.
Baji is one of the founding members of the Tokyo Manji Gang, and the captain of the first division. Toman is very important to Baji and everything he does is to make sure the club stays intact and never loses its way.
He is very insightful and intelligent. He is the only one, aside from Takemichi, who believes that Kisaki is evil. He even goes so far as to infiltrate Valhalla to denounce Kisaki, risking his friendships and his life. He ends up sacrificing his life for the club and its members.
Worst: Hanma derives great pleasure from violence and chaos.
As Kisaki Tetta's right-hand man, Hanma is a very powerful person. Not only does he show authority, but he's also incredibly strong. Hanma is able to go up against Mikey and even block the latter's signature move.
Hanma loves violence and sees it as entertainment to drive away her boredom. He willingly follows Kisaki's plans for fun. He has no respect for human life, even his own.
Best: Draken is Mikey's right-hand man and voice of reason.
Draken is one of the founding members of Toman and serves as its vice president, second only to Mikey. Draken has an impressive build, unlike his teenage counterparts, and is incredibly strong.
Although Draken also has a bit of a wild side, between him and Mikey, he's the cool-headed one. After Moebius attacks a young girl, Draken forces Mikey to bow down and accept his parents' wrath. He also convinces Mikey to let Pah-chin face the consequences and get arrested after stabbing a Moebius member.
Worst: Kazutora blames his situation on Mikey rather than himself.
When viewers meet Kazutora, he has just been released from prison for killing Mikey's brother. Already shattered by his bad home life, Kazutora realizes he killed Mikey's brother and something inside him snaps.
For some reason, Kazutora blames Mikey for the incident and his misfortune. He becomes fixated on killing Mikey and teams up with Valhalla to achieve his goal. Kazutora is a very twisted individual who enjoys violence and believes that killing Mikey will make him a hero.
Best: Takemichi does his best to save everyone.
Takemichi is the main protagonist and whiny hero of the story. By a sheer twist of fate, Takemichi has the ability to change the outcome of his future. At first, Takemichi is motivated by his desire to save Hinata.
However, as Takemichi travels through time, he realizes that more people need to be saved. Takemichi strives to change and become stronger so he can save everyone. Even when things get difficult or seem impossible, Takemichi never gives up.
Worst: Kisaki is the reason everything is going wrong.
Kisaki is very smart. Although Kisaki is a skilled fighter, his most dangerous quality is his ability to manipulate others. By doing so, Kisaki rises through the ranks of several organizations and gains power.
He has little respect for others, apart from himself and his own ambitions. By instilling fear in his subordinates and making them commit heinous acts for him, he can escape justice and continue to pull the strings behind the scenes. Kisaki is responsible for everything that goes wrong.
